A-J Photography (“we,” “our,” “us”) provides photography services throughout Wasilla, Anchorage, Palmer, and the Mat‑Su Valley. By booking a session, accessing our website, or using our services, you (“client,” “you”) agree to the following policies and terms. These policies are designed to ensure clarity, protect both parties, and support a safe, respectful, and professional experience.
1. General Policies
1.1 Eligibility
Clients must be 18 years or older to book or participate in boudoir sessions.
Minors may participate in non‑boudoir sessions with a parent or legal guardian present.
1.2 Booking Confirmation
A session is considered confirmed only after:
• A date and time are agreed upon
• Required agreements are signed (boudoir, event, or specialty sessions)
• A retainer is paid, if applicable
1.3 Retainers & Payments
Retainers are non‑refundable unless otherwise stated.
Remaining balances are due as outlined in your session agreement.
2. Liability & Safety
2.1 Assumption of Risk
By participating in a photography session, you acknowledge that:
• You are voluntarily engaging in the session
• You assume all risks associated with locations, poses, weather, and personal items
• You are responsible for your own physical safety and well‑being
2.2 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted under Alaska law, A-J Photography is not liable for:
• Injuries, accidents, or property damage during sessions
• Loss of personal items
• Delays caused by weather, travel conditions, or unforeseen events
• Website outages or digital delivery delays
Our total liability will not exceed the amount paid for the session.
2.3 Client Conduct
We reserve the right to end any session immediately if:
• A client behaves inappropriately
• Safety concerns arise
• A location becomes unsafe
No refunds will be issued for sessions ended due to misconduct.
3. Boudoir Privacy & Image Use
3.1 Privacy Guarantee
Your boudoir images are never shared, published, or used for marketing without your explicit written permission.
3.2 Model Release
A model release is optional for boudoir clients.
If you decline, your images remain fully private.
3.3 Guests
You may bring a guest for support as long as they do not interfere with the session. But may not photograph or video without permission form A-J Photography.
4. Image Delivery & Editing
4.1 Delivery Timeline
Standard delivery is 2–3 weeks, depending on session type and volume.
Rush delivery may be available upon request.
4.2 Editing & Retouching
All delivered images include natural, professional retouching.
We do not provide:
• Raw files
• Unedited images
• Excessive or unrealistic body modification
4.3 Artistic Style
By booking a session, you acknowledge that you have reviewed our portfolio and understand our artistic style. Editing decisions are final.
5. Cancellations, Rescheduling & Weather
5.1 Client Cancellations
If you cancel:
• Retainers are non‑refundable
• Rescheduling may be offered depending on availability
5.2 Photographer Cancellations
If we must cancel due to illness, emergency, or unsafe conditions:
• You may reschedule
• Or receive a refund of any payments made
5.3 Weather
Outdoor sessions may be rescheduled due to unsafe or extreme weather conditions common in Alaska.
6. Events & Sports Coverage
6.1 Coverage Limitations
We document events and sports as they unfold.
We cannot guarantee coverage of every individual, moment, or play.
6.2 Venue Rules
Clients are responsible for securing permissions required by venues, leagues, or organizers.
7. Digital Files, Storage & Archiving
7.1 Gallery Access
Online galleries remain active for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
7.2 Archiving
We archive final edited images for a minimum of 6 months.
We are not responsible for long‑term storage.
8. Website Use & Intellectual Property
8.1 Copyright
All images remain the intellectual property of AJ Photography.
Clients receive a personal-use license unless otherwise agreed.
8.2 Prohibited Use
Clients may not:
• Sell images
• Apply filters or alter edits
• Use images for commercial purposes without permission
9. Alaska Law & Dispute Resolution
These policies are governed by the laws of the State of Alaska.
Any disputes will be handled through negotiation first, followed by mediation or arbitration if needed.

Combined Liability Release & Assumption of Risk

Applies to Boudoir, Portraits, Headshots, Styled/Fantasy, Sports, Events, and All Other Photography Services
The Client voluntarily chooses to participate in a photography session with A‑J Photography (“Photographer”) and acknowledges that all sessions—whether boudoir or non‑boudoir—may involve inherent risks. By booking a session, the Client agrees to the following terms.
1. Voluntary Participation
The Client confirms they are physically and emotionally able to participate and understands that sessions may include:
• Movement, posing, or physical exertion
• Outdoor environments, uneven terrain, or variable weather
• Public, semi‑public, or active locations (events, sports, venues)
• Use of props, lighting, or equipment
• Intimate or emotionally vulnerable settings (boudoir sessions only)
Boudoir clients acknowledge that sessions may involve lingerie, partial clothing, or implied nudity, and that they may experience emotional vulnerability during the process.
2. Assumption of Risk
The Client understands and voluntarily assumes all risks associated with participation, including but not limited to:
• Slips, trips, falls, or minor injuries related to posing or movement
• Weather‑related hazards (ice, snow, wind, heat, etc.)
• Contact with natural elements or uneven ground
• Accidental contact with equipment, props, or lighting
• Risks inherent to sports or event environments
• Emotional discomfort or vulnerability during boudoir sessions
• Wardrobe malfunctions or issues with clothing, lingerie, or accessories (boudoir)
3. Release of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted under Alaska law, the Client agrees to release, waive, and hold harmless A‑J Photography, its owner, assistants, contractors, and representatives from any and all claims arising from:
• Injuries, accidents, or emotional distress during the session
• Property damage, loss, or theft
• Weather‑related delays, cancellations, or rescheduling
• Location hazards or venue‑related issues
• Equipment malfunctions
• Actions of third parties (venues, spectators, athletes, guests, etc.)
• Wardrobe‑related issues or malfunctions (boudoir)
Total liability is strictly limited to the amount paid for the session.
4. Client Responsibilities
The Client agrees to:
• Follow all safety instructions
• Notify the Photographer of any physical limitations or concerns
• Use caution around equipment, props, and lighting
• Secure personal belongings
• Supervise minors at all times (if applicable)
• Communicate boundaries clearly during boudoir sessions
• Bring and manage their own wardrobe items (boudoir)
The Photographer is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen items.
5. Health & Safety
The Client confirms that:
• They are not aware of any medical condition that would make participation unsafe
• They will disclose any relevant concerns prior to the session
• They will not engage in unsafe behavior during the session
The Photographer may end a session immediately if safety or comfort becomes a concern.
6. Sports & Event‑Specific Risks
For sports and event photography, the Client acknowledges that:
• The Photographer may be positioned near active play areas
• Athletes, equipment, or spectators may move unpredictably
• The Photographer cannot guarantee coverage of every individual or moment
The Client agrees that the Photographer is not responsible for injuries or incidents involving athletes, spectators, or event participants.
7. Boudoir Privacy & Confidentiality
Boudoir clients acknowledge and agree that:
• All boudoir images remain fully private
• Images will never be shared, published, or used for marketing without explicit written permission
• A separate optional model release is provided for those who wish to allow image use
• Intake forms, personal information, and session details remain confidential
8. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Alaska.
