As a part time Photographer, I often find it difficult to build those relationships to shot portraiture. The market is saturated with so many people with a camera, choosing a photographer can be a strenuous task. I continue to see Facebook post looking for a photographer and within minutes, 60-70 replies and recommendations. So, who do you choose?

Not really an easy answer. Do you look at likes, or Instagram, or threads, Pinterest, and so much more. your senses will be flooded with AI images and so much more adding stress to selecting your photographer,

Here is some help:

Style: Do you prefer candid, posed, traditional, or artistic photos? What style resonates with you.

Budget: Knowing how much you want to spend can narrow your options.

Reasearch and Review: Once you know your style, or think you have a plan, focus your reviews with photographers that meet your desires. This will significantly lower the time spent on searching for a photographer.

Ask Questions: Very important step. Make sure you know what you are going to get and that you are both in sync to achieve your outcome. Remember, photographers have a vested interest in you, same as you are putting your trust in them.

Details: Where, when, how many photos you will receive, timelines, any additional resources required, and anything you can think of. This is a collaboration of sorts to ensure you are the most satisfied customer.

Rights: Some photoshoots may require contracts and rights of the photos. By default, the photographer owns the rights, so be aware and incorporate this into your discussion of the details.

If you made it this far, maybe you will choose us, maybe not. However, and informed client makes the photoshoot go smoother and get rid of many potential pitfalls.

Have a great Photoshoot!
